Next up for Wealdstone is the relatively short trip by public transport across to South East London to Welling.
Perhaps Russpa can organise a Chiltern Line train special for this one?

Match stats taken from Russpa's quite informative twitter feed:
Can Wealdstone fc make it another happy trip to Welling United this Saturday?
Only one defeat in a league game there from the previous 6 visits.
That was 32 years ago 09th September 1987.

our record 2 wins 3 draws 1 defeat.

Here are some reports to peruse of their last match, which was a defeat away to Weymouth, taken from their forum.

Hopefully with a longer period between matches now, the team will be fully fit and rested.

If only there was a way through deadly.

Welling will be without their influential midfielder Connor Dymond after he was sent off at Weymouth last Saturday.

The odds for Saturday

Welling 3/1
Draw 5/2
Wealdstone 4/5

Wealdstone as low as 7/4 for the title. Bit on the low side we are only 10 games in.

Stones nearly a quarter of the way through the season in terms of league matches and what a position to be in. Top of the league, seven points clear, most wins, most goals, best goal difference and joint best defensive record. Some will say “it’s only September” and ‘too early to judge’ but surely with the way we’ve started it’s ours to lose now?

Welling are no mugs and will probably be a top half team/pushing for the playoffs come the end of the season so tomorrow is going to be a real battle! Our positions in the table might say otherwise but when you’re top the league by a rather large margin, your fixture becomes a ‘cup final’ and teams will play in a higher gear than usual. Therefore, it’s our job tomorrow to also play in a higher gear and show them why we’re top of the league.

Eight wins in row currently. No reason why DB and the lads can’t make it nine tomorrow! #UTS

A great descriptive quote from the Gaffer.. "picking your teeth off the floor" :o :o :o

FootballGroundsGuide for Welling United:

https://www.footballgroundguide.com/lea ... nited.html

Facilities, how to get there, local pubs etc.

Train: From Charring Cross. 3 trains an hour. Journey time 39 minutes.

When in the ground and want a drink, go to the bar on the far side of the ground , opposite the main stand. That bar is owned and run by ground sharers Erith & Belvedere F.C. All bar proceeds go to them rather than Welling. 8-)
