Highlights showing red card but not challenge, are we appealing this card?

All this about the budget and the manager is in places irrelevant. Bobby inherited a squad that had had under performed and an element of which continue to under perform far too often. They are in all likelyhood being paid more than any other club would offer them, hence why some are not looking to move elsewhere even though they are not getting regular football. This is not the player's or the managers fault. It would be far easier to bring in more consistent players if we could offload some of the existing players!

Without doubt, yellow cards are dished out now at all levels of football for relatively normal tackles. That Allen tackle was a yellow at worst, yet that tool of a ref decided to become the centre of attention.

Happy to admit I'm wrong if this was the case.

As Worruz says though, some people are becoming conditioned to the contactless nature of the modern game. It's particularly bad at premier league level. Virtually every mistimed challenge sees entire sections of the crowd baying for a red card.

What is the strategic thinking behind this clampdown on physical play? Just my own views but ultimately I think the progressive establishment wants all sports to be mixed. It will be a good few years down the line but I can see it happening.

He has signed nearly 20 players and baring maybe one they have all failed. The big wages have occurred since he and his ex chairman came along so he is to blame just as much also the majority of the team are players he got from GB. The main stayers green north Eddie etc all GB

About 3 mins and 8 seconds in

Looks a good tackle to me. In any era of the game

Again, just to reiterate, these are the offences that are required for a red card to be shown.

Sending-off offences
A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the
following seven offences:
• serious foul play
• violent conduct
• spitting at an opponent or any other person
• denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity
by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within
his own penalty area)
• denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving
towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a
penalty kick
• using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
• receiving a second caution in the same match
A player, substitute or substituted player who has been sent off must leave the
vicinity of the field of play and the technical area.
