Braintree Town WON 3-1

For all things Wealdstone FC

Braintree Town WON 3-1

Postby deadly » Fri Dec 01, 2017 7:05 am

Next up at the Vale is Braintree Town.

Official match preview including our playing record against them.
https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/2017/post ... c-ko-1500/

Another tough match, Braintree are currently sitting in second place in the league, only goal difference keeping them off the top spot.
A close look at the form guide, however, shows that their wins have all been against teams in the lower half of the table,
Poole, Bognor, Gloucester, Hungerford and Concord.
They have managed draws against Bath and Truro,
but lost against Weston, Havant & Hemel.

Sam's suspension will start with this game so the team will be re-jigged from Wednesday's team that won at Chelmsford.
A tough but perfectly winnable game.

UP THE STONES.

Looking forward to Stones games now more than I have done for a few years. Not seen a game for 3 weeks so hungry for this.

Need to get a run going again.

Love a win but would take a draw now. Not negative, just feel that we need that run to keep going into the New Year.

Still think we can win though.

Good post there worruz.that new young fella may just be building something here.we look and play like a completely different team compared to recent times and with Danny Green pulling all the strings,Ryan Sellers frightening the bejasus out of the opponents and the front 2 offering plenty we seem to be genuinely heading in the right direction.Just find a way for the wellard to slot in and offer varied mazy runs and short accurate killer passes and we'll be formidable.
A draw would be a good result but a win will not be that much of a surprise to the football fanatics who've seen our recent performances.
Crowd of 896,1-1 draw,1 sending off, hurry up Harry to hold the ball in the corner for the last 15 minutes.
1 fan threatened with ejection.

No mention of Whichelow here. Becoming a forgotten man? Injury wise he's always been a risk but I'd like to think we can get this resolved.

Good idea that, putting potential important team news on a public forum...
Just because you come from Wealdstone it doesn't mean you are a horrible b*stard - it's just considerably more likely that you are.

It was mentioned in Wednesday night's match report, but yes, I dropped a clanger.

To be fair we aren't playing mickey mouse level anymore. I'd say for certain we were 'watched' by Braintree on Wednesday night. In fact I'd say we are watched every game by future opponents. They would obviously take notes of players picking up knocks etc. Only we were ever unprofessional enough not to always send qualified coaching staff to watch other teams.

I think Cox not playing can only strengthen the team - really struggling to see what he does apart from foul people.

Great Wealdstone mysteries number 475.
