I've championed the appointment of BW so to question this would be hypocritical in the extreme. Abbuza has nailed it that he probably would have been the fans choice had it gone to a vote. Of course there may be an issue with his 'small club' background and the added pressures at Wealdstone. Only time will tell whether this will be a genuine concern. Of course the last set of results have been extremely poor and this needs to be nipped in the bud NOW. The handful of deficiencies in this side are obvious to me if not others. We rode our luck a bit during the decent run but hard work and a good team ethic maybe indicated this luck was earned. Also helps having an on form Northy of course.
But where I believe PM and the board are possibly culpable is in allowing certain players to (allegedly)be put onto contracts of which outweigh their ability. This is NOT the players fault and they should never pulled up on it. However I believe the VC did state that the board would be taking ownership of contracts at the last AGM. So no fault should be aimed at GB if this was implemented. We all heard over the summer how retaining some of the present players was proving to be a financial challenge. Apparently there were clubs wanting to poach them from us. Yet those who we've tried to move on have been in about as much demand as a chocolate tea pot.
The above is without doubt a question for the next AGM.
