Pre-season friendlies

Fact not fiction but we travel to Swindon Supermarine on 14 July. SWindon S were promoted into the Southern League premier after a penalty shootout win.

Can sense the excitement from the groundhopping stoats a mile off :)

Don't think we've ever played them?

Looking forward to the barbie back at Bobby's for team buliding ;)

No, don't think we have played them before, so very much a tick. We always moan about playing the same old teams, so nice to be playing someone different for a change. Well done, presumably, BW for broadening our horizons.

Got to include friendlies against Cardiff and Shrewsbury surely? I'd imagine Bobby has got us a friendly with Reading even if its the U23's. The players are back for pre season training on 25th June so hopefully a long pre-season with lots of on fitness so we are raring to go when the season starts in early August.

A trip to a new ground well away from our usual pre-season M25 haunt's.
Excellent.
Everyone who normally go to the friendly's should be well pleased with that.
(except Russpa, obviously    )
SSFC are right at the northern edge of Swindon.
Interesting looking ground complete with an indoor training facility.

Arkellls Brewery own most of the local pubs in the area, including the Rat Trap, which appears to be the closest pub to the ground.

Supermarine were originally a works team representing an aircraft building company. You may have heard of one of their more successful designs of which played a huge part in defeating the Luftwaffe in the battle of Britain. It also begins with an S although it wasn't actually the most successful RAF fighter in this battle.

A very stoaty fixture bound to bring out the stoat in everyone.
