Yes, the keeper, Sonny looked very young, 17 maybe but if you told me he was only 15 I would have believed it. Great to see Williams back in action again and getting the full 90. Sheppard started at right wing-back 1st half and moved to centre-midfield during the 2nd and looked more effective there. Tyler played a small amount of the 2nd half at RB and looked as unready as he did against Bracknell, maybe he's a slow starter. All the centre-backs that featured did ok except for Abbey who's just been released from B*r*et, although a lot of his uncertainty could have stemmed from the very bumpy pitch, as with others. The surface was a big leveller. Up front, Pratt battled and ran and was rewarded but Bubb didn't have a lot of luck. Sometimes his runs aren't being seen and was unlucky to hit the post. His penalty wasn't the best, down the middle and a nice height for the keeper to save. Brown came on(for Pratt I think)with about 10 to go and looked very lively. There was a trialist on left side for some of the 2nd half, short, neat, tidy, confident but probably not big enough for the hurly burly of NCS. Bobby not very vocal last night.

Looking through the squad and I'm going to include Williams because as long as he's fit I'm sure he'll be signed, you can almost name 16 that I'm certain will start the season. If we are going to go with 18 then theres an awful lot of players fighting for those last few places. This time last year I was very concerned for several reasons, but rightly or wrongly I'm feeling very confidant going into this season. This is when we should see the full benefit of last years managerial change so I expect a very good season where anything is possible. And before some twat comes on here speculating as to whether my account has been hacked, please remember that by and large we have been average/poor since we came up 4 years ago and to suggest we've been otherwise is deluded. Our time is now.

Swindon Supermarine: Rumours, speculation and comments...

A trip to a new ground well away from our usual pre-season M25 haunt's.
Excellent.
Everyone who normally go to the friendly's should be well pleased with that.
(except Russpa, obviously    )
SSFC are right at the northern edge of Swindon.
Interesting looking ground complete with an indoor training facility.

Arkellls Brewery own most of the local pubs in the area, including the Rat Trap, which appears to be the closest pub to the ground.

0-1 win for the Stones thanks to a Bubb header from a Hudson-Odoi cross.

New look Stones put in a solid performance against a reasonable looking Swindon Supermarine side. Stones fielded close to what must be the starting XI for the first league game and at the very least looked fit, organised and fairly solid at the back. A few things to work on of course. Need to refine our attacking play somewhat but this appears to be the next stage in our preparations. Stones winner came in the second half when Bubb headed home a cross from the left hand side.

Definitely got a feel for how things are progressing under BW. Fitter, more physical and definitely pressing more.

Team:

North
Tyler
Grant
Stevens
Mambo
Okimo
Poku
Williams
Monakana
Pratt
Bradley HO

Subs: Bubb, Wilson, Clarke, Demuria, Ahmidi, Wheeler

Watch out Charlie and co, WES is back. No sign of Cox or Green there. The talkie talkie is that Green isn't fit enough to be considered for a place in the side. Shame about Coxie but he's expensive for a bloke who can't kick properly. Only one goal against Swindon though? Should be putting sides like this to bed.

Out with the old and in with the new though. Looking forward to our first game of the season v Weston!

Probably not far off our best eleven and if so then only 2 will remain from the side that started last season in North and Okimo.

From the rumour mill the only player who seems to be questioned is Tyler at right back but of course we have Sheppard who is a good player IMO and can fill that position.

Again from the rumour mill many of those signed pre season are already gone or will be gone so if their names didn't appear yesterday then its been nice knowing you. The exceptions being Green, Sheppard and Brown.

Green seems to be at the crossroads with the club, contract or no contract. Has ability and a decent left foot but does he do enough ? Not for me and I would think in a good side going for promotion he's a squad player at best.

With 3 weeks of pre season left we seem to be in a good place going forward so just a bit of fine tuning needed.
