Traffic was fine, much better than to Hastings - so was the route. Went the Southern way and only took 2 hours there and 2 hours back despite slowing down during a heavy downpour!

The High Speed 'Javelin' train service from London St Pancras to Ashford was well worth the extra few quid you pay for it. Speeds of up to 140mph, and a totally chav/stoat free environment unlike most conventional trains.

As for the game, this was a MASSIVE win for the Stones and totally deserved in my opinion. The first half was played in a heavy driving rain, on a shocking pitch that was actually in danger of becoming waterlogged had this carried on in the second half. The small Stones travelling army gave good support considering the low numbers and were rewarded with a very gutsy performance and positive result.

I see the attendance at Levred today is 178. Clearly a few supporters that turned up on Wednesday are still suffering the effects of too much police beer[/quote][/b]

Same could be said of the missing 200 Stones fans that cliamed to go "every week" on Weds....

There was quite a bit of talk about the make up of our fanbase at Met Police. There was quite a lot of Johhny come latelys there, which is always a positive, and not so many regulars or 'out of the woodwork' types.

Great day yesterday. Scooped in HS1, saw Stones win, introduced Attic and McMiserable to the delights of The Betjeman Arms in St Pancras underneath Barlow's magnificent 1869 trainshed and got back to Hennesseys at 10pm for a 40th birthday celebration (I was meant to be there at 8!).

Thought we deserved the win yesterday. Maidstone were poor in the first half but perked up in the 2nd, and we actually cleared 2 attempts off the line. Marvin and Jimmy were superb, as were Chris and Spendy. Nice to see Greg create the winner with an instinctive strike that Callum poked home after it had been saved. Good banter with Andy Walker in their goal too, who once squirted water at Mim in his Wingate & Finchley days.

And to think they were planning on demolishing, and permanently closing this station in the 1960s.

All stations should be pulled down & bus garages too
In fact all public transport should be scraped and if people can`t drive or own a car/van/lorry then bloody well walk.
Fingers for PM i say
