Hungerford Away FA Cup 6.10.18

Postby attic » Tue Oct 02, 2018 9:41 pm

So we know all about them although no doubt they will still have some kind of point to prove. Potential for a good day out as Hungerford is actually a decent little Town.

Trains leave Paddington at 7 mins past the hour taking around 1h and 5 mins to get there. Station is about a 10 minute walk from the ground.

Prediction is a 1-1 draw and then beat them at our place the following Tuesday.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.

You'd better go and get that anorak a bit sharpish then.

A bit of rain forecasted for the start of October shock.
Anoraks, kagouls, welly boots & most importantly bellies full of beer to lubricate the lungs are highly recommended for all travelling Wealdstone fans planning to visit The Ploughed Field Ground in deepest Berkshire this coming Saturday.

Should Wealdstone and / or Hemel win their respective cup ties then the scheduled away league game on Saturday 20th October will have to be re-scheduled...
it would make sense (if possible) to get the match brought forward to Wednesday 17th October (avoiding International matches on the telly Mon-Tues)), thus leaving future dates free for a cup run... :P :P

Deadly Edit.

Re - the weather forecast this Saturday. At least Hungerford have cover in the ground, whereas Wantage have very little. Let's get down there in numbers and make some noise, we've been very quiet of late. Are we getting too reliant on the yoof?

I will just re-paste the travel & pub info from our first visit there this season...

there IS A COACH RUNNING, SEE SEPERATE THREAD...

Ground Guide, directions, ground facilities etc.

By Train from Paddington:
http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/
£ With a Railcard £18.75 or about the same price group travel.
For fans travelling individually, I suggest waiting at the Mad Bishop and Bear up the escalator overlooking the main concourse. (wearing Wealdstone colours OF COURSE ) on the hour/half hour to meet any other Stones fans traveling, so as to be able to get a group travel discount. The later you leave departing, on this busy line, the less chance of getting a seat.

Talk of a looking for a replay on Tuesday is bonkers; time for the management team & squad to stand up and do the business tomorrow on the pitch over the 90 + Minutes - no lumping it forward aimlessly , keep possession & play football.

Stones to win 3-1 all the goals in the first hour - crowd around 385.

Pretty certain that the concession entry rate at the game earlier this season was set at 60+ (and not 65) :o
