How many STs have actually been sold for 2019-2020?

If less than 2018-19 - coupled to this year’s loss of more attractive ‘big names’ (Woking / Torquay) who had a good away following (as already highlighted) - will mean we need consistent good home performances to compensate for potential decrease in this season’s average attendance.

At Saturday's friendly, Nick Symmons said approx 440 have been sold so far. Decent number IMHO.

Definitely need to inject some of the enthusiasm of the youth into our support. Takes quite a lot of effort to get old dogs interested in run of the mill stuff and they usually end up curling up in their basket and dozing off. Although dozing off is fairly appropriate for too many of our home games down the years. Terrace viagra needed in the form of a better home record and some attacking intent.

Unfortunately for DB I suspect he's coming in at a time when many have had enough of the poor performances and results over a 5 year period at The Vale and the crowd/atmosphere will not be what he wants in the early part of the season. I think he understands that its down to the team to energise the terraces and I think on this occasion its going have to be just that. Fans are worn out by it and are going to need convincing that the Beer garden is not a better option during the match.

As things stand I just don't see the fans taking the bull by the horn on this one, its down to the team.

Season ticket sales have surely met expectations which is a positive. However lack of match sponsorship is surely a concern. However I think we need to move away from the mentality that supporters will constantly fill this void as most would have been maxed out with the crowd fundraising. The general consensus is that prices are simply too high and it may be a case of 'bidding' for sponsorship with the highest bidder getting the hospitality. Hopefully the beer available in the ground will mean there isn't the exodus at 3:35 (regardless of how the game is going).

Heniken has been on tap the last couple of games, if you call it beer and there was a "craft IPA" in a bottle at the last game. If you see a 6' 5" canary in goal for us it's not the beer.

Here in Menorca there’s been a bit of a buzz around our loan signing of Canaries keeper Aston Oxborough. The last norwich keeper I’d heard of was kevin keelan but thankfully young Aston is about 50 years younger - looks very decent does the canaries third choice and a big lad too at 6ft 5ins. On loan til Xmas apparently so I imagine Northy’s injury is longer term than we thought. Welcome to Aston and let’s hope he can create an instant understanding with Jerome, Connor and Co ...on the face of it a great addition and proof of the long tentacles of the Brennan/Maynard recruitment policy.

By the way, why all the talk of a depressed, silent crowd on the eve of the new season? It’s up to everyone there to create an atmosphere and I reckon the team will be firing on all cylinders from the off... so less of the negativity, positivity will soon be echoing around the Vale!

Beer was only available in the ground during preseason. It won’t be available in the ground for League games.
