As entertainment goes, there was little to offer the crowd of 200 or so, but a mixed ability Stones side gave a reasonable account of themselves against a strong and committed Dagenham outfit. In fact the Daggers side in the first half was more or less full strength, where as the second half was a squad team.

First 20 minutes was pretty even, Stones had a blatant penalty turned down when Ashe was tripped in the box. Some reasonable football was played. However soon after this, Dagenham got totally on top, and cruised into a 2-0 lead, although both goals were pretty soft.

Second half saw a total change of personel for Dagenham, although totally hopeless goalkeeping from whoever it was in goal gifted them their 3rd. Stones pulled one back late on when a cross by Chappell was fired home excellently by Ngoyi.

Still too early to really judge, although I expect us to start picking up a bit from Saturday onwards.

Cheers Stuart

I thought I recognised you when I saw you in the club shop before the game but couldnt picture where I knew you from. Forgive me, I'm getting old

The ground is a testament to a lot of hard work from fans and also a fair bit of money that several fans have put into it

Thanks for your words about the ground. Much appreciated.
