Stones 1 - 3 Watford

Stones gave a reasonable account of themselves against a mixed ability Watford side. First half was actually pretty even, with Stones hitting the bar, missing a total sitter courtesy Douglas, and playing some neat football. Some shocking goalkeeping from Beagle gifted them the lead, although he could do nothing about a great turn and finish shortly afterwards. We grabbed one back when the sharp looking Ngoyi fired home following a scramble in the area, but went 3-1 down when a long range effort from ex Stones loanee Henderson beat Beagle a little too easily for my liking.

Second half real pre season stuff with the game looking every inch the 'trials match' that it probably was.

Bit underwhelmed with it all really, crowd of about 250 which didnt help.

Am looking forward to seeing our 'first XI' in action though, as its all been very try out and mix n match so far.

I thought Burnell showed promise, woudl like to see him and fitzgerald together ( only saw 2nd half at St Giles) . Douglas looked a menaced but not a striker IMO

brooks and the number 4 looked at home.

what is Junior Osborne still at the club!

Shaun please come back well, thought Sam at fault for 2 .
