From reading the snippet on the Harry O site it seems we negotiated a very good deal for a player that was out of contract and hasn't played for us this season. Well done to all those concerned and good luck to Carl in his new career with The Railwaymen.

I think Gordon, once again, deserves a significant pat on the back. ;)

Very best of luck to Carl - and thanks.

I'm sure details of the deal will come out, but I must admit its far better than anything we could have hoped for, especially if he is sold on.

And as Megaphone says, not bad for a player out of contract. I believe though, that his age, plus the fact he came through our ranks meant that some form of compensation would have been in the offering had we got nothing for him.....
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it.

I dunno whether you agree...but having seen (and played with Carl) over the last few years, I truly believe he is the best of the lot who have made the step up.

Dale Bennett is now playing fairly regularly at Watford and is doing well. I believe Carl has a lot more about him than Dale did and I really think once Carl gets his chance in the first team at Crewe he wont look back. Just gotta hope the injuries play fair to him. Just wait for his £1.8m transfer to Aston Villa in June 2011.
