However,to my surprise a rival has opened up bang opposite and having sampled their fayre tonight,it being thursday to the uninitiated,I can tell youI was pleasantly surprised.score card as below.
8/10 chilli sauce.a touch too salty but otherwise very nice.
8.5/10 salad.varied and plentiful with lots of fresh chillies.
9/10 chicken shish.excellent,perfectly cooked.
8/10 lamb shish.again very good but slightly too salty.
8/10 chips.nice but room for improvement.
0/10 taramasalata.out of stock.
7/10 houmous.too cold,nice and coarse tho'.

that is all.

Kebab shops shouldn't be allowed refurbishments. Years of hard earned character and grime erased in a jiffy (admittedly 4 weeks is hardly a jiffy).

Eagerly awaiting news of whether the Ricky kebab shop refurb closure was worth it.

Well, what can one say.A fantastic return to form foodwise but the decor, apparently "expertly carried out by a specialist" was too sore on the eyes. The staff are now kitted out in maroon uniforms with a fetching bell-boy type cap to add to the whole experience and English level 2 lessons have also been taken.
Top fayre to be fair and not too far.

Well KP, made my 1st visit to refurbed establishment. Decent as usual (still not as good as Manor Kebabs imo), but what an eyesore! Talk about bright, there was more lighting than the average Ryman League ground. As for the step just inside the door, that will def be a cause of a few casualties.

yep RR,already registered a complaint re;the decor and floodlit food.expect changes soon.
In fact i shall be in there in a couple of hours and will pass on your comments to the gaffer.Although it makes a pleasant change to be able to see what you're getting from a take away.
Haven't done Manor kebabs for a long time but can remember it was second to one !

As a self proclaimed chubster, I can vouch for Manor Kebabs being the best in the locality.

The only improvement I would make is the addition of gravy on to the menu.
