I think you are contradicting yourself Guvnor. One minute you say we are flirting with the play offs this year (maybe).

Then you talk of having better players signed this year.

Agree about better players.... 7 of these players signed have experience of level above.

In fact reading the BIO s they all appear to be shaping up to be a team of "Whippets."

I expect we should be in the top 4 and above this season!!!.... Some of the famous five signed prior to DB could struggle.

Oh dear! ..."thats it charlie".... Your getting carried away again without a ball being kicked in anger.

We may well have better players this year but its a new team and that might take a while to settle down.

We have a sound base but with so many additions to the squad its the great unknown so until we start playing we won't really know.

Our next match is Hitchin and I shall be there to provide in depth analysis on all our newcomers.

Maybe is the operative word right now.

UTS

I would have liked Christian Smith to have stayed if he could have stayed fit but he's gone and that's that.

I've not seen a lot of these players so I can't really judge who is decent and who isn't.

Just a little over 3 weeks and a few days till the 19/20 season starts. Unless i've missed anyone out i have the squad at 17 players.

GK
Jonathan North

DF
Jerome Okimo
Jake Sheppard
Michee Efete
Ryan Sellers
Connor Stevens
Afolabi Coker
Nick Arnold

MF
Jacob Cook
Danny Green
Jacob Mendy
Connor Smith
Kavan Cotter

FW
Reece Beckles-Richards
Dennon Lewis
Ross Lafayette
Dejon Noel-Williams

From this list Sellers is currently Injured. I also spotted on the team sheet yesterday some names i can't find anywhere else such as Saunders, Young, Switer and Yaw. Does anyone know anything about them? Without any additions at this point here would be my starting XI on the 3rd August.

North
Sheppard Stevens Coker Arnold (Unless sellers is back!)
Okimo
Smith Mendy Green
Lafayette Lewis

Subs:
Paterson, Arnold/Sellers (See above), Cook, Noel-Williams, Beckles-Richards

In my view Arnold should play right back with Jerome at left back if Sellars isn't fit. Also think you need Cook in the midfield so would go as follows

North
Arnold Stevens Coker/Efete Okimo
Cook, Smith, Sheppard
Green, Lewis, Lafayette

Still have Femi who was said to be signing and is involved in pre-season but not announced yet.

Subs

Coker, Femi, Dejon, Mendy, Cotter / Reece

Switters looks a very decent player on paper but doubt he can be signed
Cynicism and negativity is an easy and popular trait that is fed by failure. Success derives from someone, somewhere, being positive. Try it.

I thought he was the stand out player second half tenacious and technically good. Saunders was ok not sure of 1st name or pedigree.
