National / South / North play-offs.

It is relatively not long now to the Play-offs finally going ahead.
Once these have been concluded we will be able to see the full complement of clubs that the Stones will be up against next season.

Here are the details:
SOUTH: Eliminators.
Match A. Slough v Dartford July 19th 3pm.
Match B. Bath v Dorking July 19th 3pm.
SOUTH: Semi-Finals.
Havant & Waterlooville v winner of match A. July 25th 3pm (Game to be streamed on pay-per view BY BT)
Weymouth v winner of match B. July 25th 3pm
PROMOTION FINAL:
August 1st 3pm. At ground of highest ranked finalist.

NORTH: Eliminators.
Match A. Chester v Altrincham July 19th 3pm.
Match B. Brackley v Gateshead July 19th 3pm.
NORTH: Semi-Finals.
York City v winner of match A. July 25th 3pm (Game to be streamed on pay-per view BY BT)
Boston United v winner of match B. July 25th 3pm
PROMOTION FINAL:
August 1st 3pm. At ground of highest ranked finalist.

NATIONAL: Eliminators.
Match A. Boreham Wood v Halifax July 17th 7pm.
Match B. Yeovil v Barnet July 18th 3pm.
NATIONAL: Semi-Finals.
Harrogate Town v winner of match A. July 25th 2.30pm
Notts County v winner of match B. July 25th 5pm
PROMOTION FINAL:
August 2nd 3pm. At Wembley.


A lot of these games are being played at the same time so choosing which, if any to watch live on tv or via streaming could be a difficult choice.
Who do you want to see win / loose in these games?

For myself, Slough getting through in the South. (another derby match)
Brackley in the North (a relativity short away trip)
and Yeovil in the National to naff off back to League Two.
... which would give us two more derby games v Barnet and Boreham Wood, plus of course a money-spinning visit of Notts County.

Bath City = Still a great day out and proper club
Weymouth = Trip to the South Coast and proper club

Slough Town = Fairly close by. Surely they would need to rip up their 3g pitch???
Dorking Wanderers = Nothing massively against them but all a bit new money to me. Again...wouldn't they need to rip out their pitch?

To win national I’d want Borehamwood, get rid of them.

Yes, and so is Hemel.
The National South will have the largest percentage of clubs playing on plastic.
Thankfully not our problem, but of course Sutton and possibly Harrogate away will be on plastic.
But as Slough would be our geographically closest club if they got promoted, I want them to win.

Only one real preference for promotion ....

York City - downside of them moving from the near city centre - with all its obvious attractions ie fantastic range of pubs - is compensated by the brand new out of town stadium......

.... no way Brackley - easier to get to York by public transport than to this middle England blot of uninspiring mediocrity ....

.....if not the Minstermen another a Roman city for the NLN spot Chester .....

.... hence Bath from NLS to maintain antiquarian preferential consistency

From the NL - preference is to avoid Borehamwood .... never forgotten / forgiven the antics of their shitehawk scumbag ‘fans’ at Edgware at FAC game 20+ years ago.... the opportunity to play Notts County at their place is the proverbial icing on the cake fixture for next season plus of course having a real proper derby at last against the usurpers in Canons Park
