Notts County Lost 0 - 1

Official match preview:

If you had predicted a few years ago that the Stones would be playing a home National League game v Notts County most fans would have presumed that you had one drink too many. Well, here we are, with a newly appointed management team about to do just that.
They spanked the Stones 3-0 at their gaff, but their fortunes have recently waned, whilst the Stones have improved at the same time.
It will be a difficult one to pull off, especially with the current injury list, but County are not exactly firing on all cylinders either.
I will settle for a boring 0-0 draw right now.

Match result predictions on the Notts County fans forum range from a confident victory to a demoralising defeat.

UTS!

Meanwhile, this The Guardian newspaper article suggests that there is indeed no relegation from the National, but if the National Board and the FA agree, then there may be promotion into it from a combined North/South mini League.
Who knows, maybe the National board will give the go-ahead, so as to defer criticism from their shambolic handling and possible mis-leading or even(allegedly) lying to their own member clubs in this sorry season.

So disappointing we can't be there, 1 year in. 23 million vaccinations too. Dates not data to put a spin on the spin.

Pleased Effete and Wishart are back - so we only have five defenders that can't play now.

We know very well our strengths and weaknesses - what Stu and Matt have brought is optimising the chance of a result with what we've got. And that's fair enough. With Lewis on form, super Mendy, plus Parrish and RLF fit now, we've certainly got a chance under the new management.

Good luck tomorrow Wealdstone FC!

The vulnerable third of the country basically protected/offered...yet we are given the 'privilege' of being allowed back outdoors at a football ground in May. Not a single part of the political class seemingly making any noises against this either.

Tomorrow needs to be approached with a totally different mentality than the pathetic 'free hit' that we've heard in the past. Yes, they are a good side, yes, they are very well funded. However, they are Notts County, not a premiership side. Teams at the lower end have taken points off of them throughout the season. So lets rough them up, win our personal battles, get under their skin, make things as hard as possible for them. If its 0-0 with 10 to go they are going to be getting frustrated. Go blow for blow with them and we can get something out of the game.

They are Notts County circa 2021.....not 1991.

Lets be having ya!

Funny you should mention 1991. The last time I saw Notts County play was the 1991 Division 2 play off, at Wembley between Notts County and Brighton. Division 2 - That's Championship for all you crazy kids out there.

County won and got into the First Division - Premier league.

That was the year we left Lower Mead and were in the Southern league.
I got a colour TV, so I can see, The Knicks play basketball!

Wealdstone as big as 4/1. Notts County haven't won any of their last 4 league games - including a 2-2 draw at home to Kings Lynn last week.

Stay in the game.

Hoping for a decent performance today and let's face it a draw would be an excellent result.

Don't be fooled by Notts' recent results, they've still got some decent players and can't be ruled out for the title just yet despite the gap that has opened. They destroyed us in the opening half at Meadow Lane albeit we allowed them to play at will, real rabbits in headlights stuff.

No doubt the usual suspects will be poised by their keyboards ready to strike criticism at the team and managerial appointment if we lose, remember chaps this is just 1 match.

Come on you Stones!

Would it? Perhaps with 5 CBs missing, perhaps.. But I do hope that isn't the message the players receive, subliminally or otherwise. Does the part-time, tinpot, 'free hit' sports psychology work? And it is after all the first test of the newly appointed management team.

With only 5 posts for our 'biggest' league game of recent years, would welcome all but outright abusive content. Engagement about our club is good even if people are hacked off in the moment. Constructive preferred but ultimately soon forgotten.

Held off ok in the first half but precious few attacking moves. Same story in the second half but one goal for them was enough.

Large crowd of sponsors just out of camera view. Some stewards wiping the ball when out of play, others just throwing back on the pitch.
Its all bollocks now!! (rules) .Give us a break Mr. Bumble.
John Young looking fit enough to play for the first eleven.Literally bouncing off his seat to collect stray footballs.

As for Football .. Trying the best they can..... One chance 84th minute.. in the penalty area two players ,....both a chance to SHOOT !

KTF.

Can someone tell me why there are kids running around the ground and in camera? Why please?
Cynicism and negativity is an easy and popular trait that is fed by failure. Success derives from someone, somewhere, being positive. Try it.
